Francis J. and Norma T. Rasmussen Scholarship SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENT Between the Soda Springs Education Foundation, an Idaho non-profit corporation (hereinafter the “Foundation”), the Principal of the Soda Springs High School and the scholarship donors/family who agree as follows: 1. The Foundation agrees to make available to the Principal of Soda Springs High School an annual sum of $1,000 or more per year to be used as a scholarship award to a member of the graduating class of Soda Springs High School. 2. The award is to be used to pay full-time tuition at an approved college, university, or vocational school. It is not to be paid to the student directly, but will be paid jointly to the student and to the college, university, or vocational school upon registration by the student for the approved course work. 5. The selection committee shall use the following criteria (which are not in any order of priority or importance) in the awarding of the scholarship: a. Educational and vocational ambitions, as indicated by the candidate in an essay describing his or her future plans. Of particular interest, should be the interest in and potential for community service in the student’s intended career. Preference should be given to a student who has intentions to enter the practice of law or the profession of teaching. b. Extracurricular and community activities, including the extent to which the candidate has been of service to others, and has exhibited the qualities of leadership, citizenship, and devotion to his or her religion. c. Letters of recommendation from individuals in the community who are qualified to comment on the student’s past and on the potential for the future. d. High school grades and ACT scores. These are to be considered in the selection, but are not to be the deciding factor in the selection of the scholarship recipient. Special consideration should be given to those candidates who have a cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.5. e. An in-person interview between the committee and the leading contenders for the award. f. Financial need. 6. If the committee so chooses, the award for a given year may divided between two or more applicants who are equally deserving. 7. The name of the scholarship award will be the Francis J. and Norma T. Rasmussen Scholarship. 8. A copy of the essay and of the letters of recommendation of the winning candidate is to be sent to Norma T. Rasmussen at her residence, as follows:
