Tigert Middle School is the newest school in the Soda Springs School District.   The  campus is a beautiful, modern facility that effectively meets the education needs of the community, students, and staff. The focus of Tigert Middle School is summed up in the following mission statement, vision statements and school philosophy:

Reaching for excellence one student at a time. To encourage all educators, students and parents to continually move forward toward excellence in education, commitment, and responsibility. Provide a caring, safe and orderly environment where teachers, administrators and staff believe and expect that all students can achieve.  Students will know they can learn and   succeed by sharing the responsibility for their education and that others.
 

· Our school serves over 200 students, grades 6th, 7th and 8th.

· Teacher/pupil ratio is budgeted at 26 students per teacher, with actual class size varying among classes.

· TMS is on a traditional nine-month calendar.  Students have seven classes every day for 47 minutes each.

· All teachers and administrators are evaluated regularly.

· The school has part-time counselor.

· Students are expected to abide by District dress code policy.

· Special services are available to students with learning disabilities.

· Technology training is available to all students through technology classes.

· Extracurricular programs are available including sports, dance team, cheerleading and Quiz Bowl.

· Bus service is available to students who live more that two miles from the school.

· A hot lunch program is available for students for $1.40 per day.

· Adult visitors are welcome, but must check in at the main office upon arrival. Students from other schools are not permitted during school hours except under special circumstances.
